Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Oct 17, 2008 9:00 pm Ok, so our builders' preferred kitchen business has finally provided us with a quote for our upgrades to caesarstone benchtops & glass splashbacks to our kitchen.
We were told that we could deal directly with them & pay cash for our upgrades @ the builders (trade) pricing. We have been quoted $3011.80 to upgrade to 20mm caesarstone benchtops in 'linen' (benchtop dimensions 1x 2.8m, 1x 3.5m & raised breakfast bar 2.6m. An additional $770.00 for a waterfall edge to one end (also 20mm polished underside). $2640.00 to upgrade to painted opi-white (starphire) glass splashback behind cooktop wall (2.8m) & under breakfast bar. Upgrade total of $6421.80 supply & install. Now, bearing in mind that the price of the original laminate benchtops are supposed to have been deducted from the 'upgrade' price, does this seem to be an accurate representation of 'trade pricing'? Or perhaps I should have asked what we could expect to be credited for the laminate benchtops in the same dimensions 2.8m, 3.5m & raised breakfast bar 2.6m. The waterfall edge was only added with the upgrade to CS. Any opinions please? Are you being credited for the other glass? If your not, then thats expensive! Paula Re: Cabinetmakers, thoughts on kitchen quotation please? 3Oct 18, 2008 4:45 pm Hi Paula,
Builder had allowed for a tiled splashback & under T-bar. We are yet to follow up the credit for that with them (the builder) as we are presuming that the kitchen supplier/installer will have had nothing to do with the provision or laying of tiles So yes, that price is for painted opti-white glass splashback only, behind the cooktop & under raised breakfast bar. We don't mind paying for the upgrade to what we want, IF we are being credited correctly & paying at builders price as promised. The problem with that is that we don't know what builders price IS!
