Making it ourselves takes time than we would like and we both just got leaves from work so we can't really extend. From what I've read from this blog post, recycled glass has limited options. Do you have some suggestions on where and how we can get them?

Try Betta Stone - manufactured in Melbourne and seems a bit better than that Caesarstone blog suggests. I haven't lived with it - our build is still 12 months away so I am looking at options. The samples are easier to scratch with a knife point than natural stone, but general abrasion resistance, porosity, heat resistance, etc all seem better than most of the other options (and I don't cut things on my benchtops).
