Should l renovate or leave it and ideas please.

After buying this property 6 years we did a small renovation on this kitchen, but now l am thinking l should have put an island bench.
Would love to know what layout l should do as its quiet small open plan space. Here are the measurements.

entire living area which is all open plan, its quiet small

It looks like a cafe tucked away in a corner. Definitely bad positioning of the fridge and entryway. Maybe reverse the U shape or use an island. The post is in a really silly place and will need to mark the end of a bench or wall.
Just my 2c.
