Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Oct 06, 2008 5:49 pm Hi!
Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for custom kitchen/joinery companies in Canberra (or who service Canberra)? We are currently finalising all the kitchen, bathroom and other joinery designs for our new house and hoping to start getting a few quotes! Preferably I'd like to find someone who is able to do all the joinery work, including kitchen, bathrooms and other (entertainment units, etc) Any thoughts or advice would be great!! Thanks Adam Re: Custom kitchen/joinery company in Canberra 2Oct 08, 2008 5:57 am Crown Kitchens in Queanbeyan are doing our joinery. They are a small-medium family run business and have been fantastic. Joinery will be installed in a couple of weeks, but they have been accommodating, helpful and reasonably priced. We are very happy thus far. Re: Custom kitchen/joinery company in Canberra 3Oct 08, 2008 7:28 am Thanks James! I'll have a look into them! Are they doing all your joinery (bathrooms, entertainment units etc)?? Re: Custom kitchen/joinery company in Canberra 4Oct 08, 2008 7:41 am Hi BuildingACT
From what I have seen, you are going to have the most stunning kitchen, I love your design and very european. I have also just spent the last year or so in thinking/planning and designing my own kitchen. I spent hours with the cabinet maker, going over every detail, fine tuning every little aspect from how high should the main island bench should be off the ground (makes a great difference to the look apparently) to the shape and measurements of my integrated steel handles. We spent a few hours talking about which white for the cabinets and even had to measure all our hi fi stuff just to make sure the built in cabinets are just the right size. I also might add, he is ordering a sample of Natural White in 2 pac just to make sure it is the white I want with my granite I suppose what I am trying to say is that a good cabinet maker will spend hours and hours of their time going through every single aspect of your kitchen. It can also be incredible expensive...once you start adding in the soft closing doors and using blum or hafele hardware, it is strangely very addictive and your kitchen cost has been blown away Anyway, I think a good cabinet maker should meet with you several times to make sure every detail is covered. With your type of kitchen (awesome IMHO ) you will need all this time with who ever you choose. Enjoy...try not to blow the budget too much impossible not to Mrs B Re: Custom kitchen/joinery company in Canberra 5Oct 08, 2008 7:13 pm Mrs B Hi BuildingACT From what I have seen, you are going to have the most stunning kitchen, I love your design and very european. We definitely like it (what we picture anyway!!) so hopefully it will all work out how we want it to!!! We've got a few non-standard things going on, so I definitely agree that we need to work with someone who is going to pay attention to detail and take the time to speak with us and get things right!! As for budget...I think I'm going to have to start an in-house restaurant or something to pay the kitchen appliances off, let alone the joinery!! Any joinery expert, please advise. Is it possible to add drawers in this 750mm wide joinery in a small bathroom. My builder told its not possible… 0 261 Wow I hadn't realised things had gotten that pricey in just a couple of years since I built, that is crazy with how much land is now costing if you aren't lucky enough to… 3 7102 |
