They're in Victoria, though I'd imagine there are places like them everywhere. . . even worth just contacting local kitchen manufacturers too I suppose? Re: DIY Pantry / Study / Linen / Laundry / ANYTHING Fitout 142Jan 27, 2013 10:54 am jodge i went to a custom stone bench place yesterday as i was trying to work out a cheaper option to the $1850 price i was quoted to put in ceasarstone in the main vanity area. and they said for less then $500 exact same one i wanted fitted . these are left overs and off cuts. so thinking you may have something similar in your area Re: DIY Pantry / Study / Linen / Laundry / ANYTHING Fitout 144Jan 27, 2013 11:15 am it is 1750mm jodge all i have to do now is convince my builder this is the way to go i wonder if i will get a credit for the benchtop i am not using Re: DIY Pantry / Study / Linen / Laundry / ANYTHING Fitout 145Jan 27, 2013 11:55 am Good luck with that rocky. Would be excellent if you could. Even if it's just $100, better than nothing. Will the kitchen place cut out your bits for the sinks too? Re: DIY Pantry / Study / Linen / Laundry / ANYTHING Fitout 146Jan 27, 2013 12:10 pm yes stone place will do that as well as the edges, i have seen the stone and it is very nice even a 100 back would be fantastic Re: DIY Pantry / Study / Linen / Laundry / ANYTHING Fitout 147Jan 27, 2013 4:36 pm 1rocky jodge i went to a custom stone bench place yesterday as i was trying to work out a cheaper option to the $1850 price i was quoted to put in ceasarstone in the main vanity area. and they said for less then $500 exact same one i wanted fitted . these are left overs and off cuts. so thinking you may have something similar in your area Try this website http://www.offcuts.com.au/ Cutting Edge Kitchens and Cabinet Making http://cuttingedgekitchens.net.au http://www.facebook.com/pages/Cutting-Edge-Kitchens/290484196676 Mobile : 0419 430 575 PH: 9452 4772 Fax :9452 4772 cuttingedgekitchens@outlook.com Re: DIY Pantry / Study / Linen / Laundry / ANYTHING Fitout 148Jan 27, 2013 5:11 pm CuttingEdgeKitchens 1rocky jodge i went to a custom stone bench place yesterday as i was trying to work out a cheaper option to the $1850 price i was quoted to put in ceasarstone in the main vanity area. and they said for less then $500 exact same one i wanted fitted . these are left overs and off cuts. so thinking you may have something similar in your area Try this website http://www.offcuts.com.au/ Droooooooooool. They have my kitchen benchtop colour. . . Right size (well, 3000 x 500, good enough). $274. Or, there's a white one, 2900 x 480, $201. Bargain! I suppose I'll have to pay to get it cut, but shouldn't be that much. Thanks CuttingEdgeKitchens! Re: DIY Pantry Fitout 150Jan 27, 2013 5:22 pm kiwi Where you getting the bench? Off cut from a laminate factory. They have loads lined up. $100 etc. we got one for the garage from there. Just a thought. finally you are WELCOME! (we can add a stone factory in there...as well) Re: DIY Pantry / Study / Linen / Laundry / ANYTHING Fitout 151Jan 27, 2013 6:55 pm there are some awesome blacks on the website good prices thanks cutting edge Re: DIY Pantry / Study / Linen / Laundry / ANYTHING Fitout 152Jan 27, 2013 9:14 pm Hey Rocky. . . how far up the north coast are you? There's a guy in Newcastle doing 30mm Quantum Quartz - Starlight White, 3040 x 520 x 30mm for $121. I'd love that. . . 30mm thick and so cheap. Wonder how many vanities that would do? I've found a couple of suppliers in Sydney, I'm going to give them a ring and see what they can do for me. I'm not too fussed about getting the same colour as the kitchen, just something white will do. Re: DIY Pantry Fitout 153Jan 27, 2013 9:39 pm jodge Oh, excellent! I would probably just leave the back of it white, use the normal bookcase backs. I'd prefer to have the bookcases with the solid backs anyway, rather than the 3mm laminated board, more likely to stay in one piece then! Ok. . .are you ready for this? Naming and shaming. . . my pantry. . . This is how it is, the dirty truth. Now you can see why I need some order! http://i815.photobucket.com/albums/zz75/jodge/IMG_0716_zpsbfc1777b.jpg But. . . let me show you what I did with the cleaning products. . . it's a bit rough, but works a treat. . . http://i815.photobucket.com/albums/zz75/jodge/IMG_0715_zpsa9211348.jpg It's a back-of-the-door shoe hanger. My spray bottles fit perfectly. Someone else thought of it though, perfect for apartments, or where space is limited. AMAZING and totally stealing this idea.. Jodge - that would be amazing if you wouldn't mind, thank you!!! What I would really love to do is build a desk in there as well but having trouble designing how that might look so need to work on that a bit more. Jaegar your laundry hamper is cool, what a great simple solution! Will report back when I've had a play around with ideas. Thinking corner desk might work. No problemos! I put up a bit of scotia on the wall, to make a feature and it's easy to do, if you have the mitre-saw. Doing it with a hand-saw is a bit of a pain (I've done skirting boards before with a hand-saw. . . not fun). The laborious (but easy) part is actually the filling of nail holes, and the painting. But you're going to do that, so it's all good. Hahaha! Can you post up your dimensions for that room, so we can see how everything is going to fit? I'll draw it up for you, to give you an idea on scale. Are you thinking of having any drawers or cupboards under the desk? I have some ideas. . . Am planning on going over to Ikea either today or tomorrow (thank you rain!), so I'll measure up the Hemnes and see what kind of trim we're going to be looking at. With my study, I'm going to pull back the carpet and set the cabinets on the concrete (and level them with some packers), then get a carpet layer in to re-fit it around the new fitout, when it's all finished. I'm thinking the carpet-layer shouldn't cost more than about $100? Worth the professional job, I think. I'm looking at making a desk for the study too (eventually), but I've been thinking that mine will be more of a standalone thing. I seriously need to get a second job. Maccas here I come. Sooooooo, the room is 4m x 4.1m (longer side has window on) and I have drawn up a layout in power point Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Tan rectangle is leather sofa we are buying, brown squares are table and chest that we already have (the chinese medicine chest might have to be lost - we'll see how it fits), the grey rectangles are 2 x hemnes bookcases (37cm x 90cm each), the corner unit is the hemnes desk (which I'm not keen on pricewise and hutchwise - would prefer it without the hutch, so if we could make something instead that would be ace) and the other grey rectangles opposite the sofa are toy boxes that we already have (and TV will be mounted on wall over these). Kicking myself now as I could have bought these with matching hemnes fronts but I got the other ones as per pic below. This pic shows all the furniture I'm talking about (and the cushions I will probably buy off ebay). I an ideal world I would add a 3rd narrow bookcase between the 2 (hemnes has a 40 something wide one) but may be out of room. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Oh and white thing in pantry is rice cooker....brilliant thing. I'm really impressed youre going to pull the carpet up - that really is doing the job properly and not what I could be bothered doing. Do you think we could still do something with the bookcases without doing that? I am very happy to fill and paint holes (and to learn other stuff from you)!! One thing under the desk we are keen on is some panelling so that we can hide all the nasty wires. There is so much other stuff in the room that I dont mind if it doesnt have cupboards underneath, but if you have ideas would love to hear. What sort of desk are you thinking for your place? Show us your study can you? Re: DIY Pantry / Study / Linen / Laundry / ANYTHING Fitout 160Jan 28, 2013 9:04 pm Gotta ask what that brown thing on the shelf with feathers is??!?! nina - sounds like you have a plan. The key with DIY is finishing it off well so it doesn't look DIY. That is if you want it built in. Things like trim, silicon, etc. are all good for this. If they are loose pieces to be moved around then more flexible. So is the room you are describing the one immediately on your left as you walk in the front door?
