Burnished wood/licorice linea gloss

Just after some opinions on either burnished wood or licorice linea (haven't decided on colour yet) for my kitchen and bathroom cabinets
Love the gloss look of both of these but not sure how they go with fingerprints/dirt etc.
Has any one used either of these in a gloss and if so how is it keeping clean/fingerprint free.

I have burnished wood in Matt...and you see fingers easily.
It is only a few cupboards in my kitchen and my bench. The rest is gentle beige. The bench is great and the 2 cupboards we use..I wipe down, the other 3 are above the fridge and are empty...so no fingerprints

Gogo - I thought we were long lost sisters but now I am thinking we are actually long lost twins!!!!

We have the same taste and are working through the same choices.... it's starting to freak me out a bit!!!!

We are looking to go dark gloss as well. We have considered the colours you mentioned but at the moment we are actually looking at doing a gloss black..... until I change my mind again!!
My personal opinion is that gloss is better than dark matt colours. The matt not only shows the finger prints but also shows marks where you have wiped (admittedly I was using crap cleaning products at that time). Last house I went gloss only in the powder room because I was scared about keeping it clean everywhere else... I loved it! Not everyone will agree with me!

yeah, true about the wiping down. have to spray with white vinegar and water and then you dont see any smears

I'm thinking of having my long wall in the dark colour and the island bench and other wall in white poly.
I really want a handlessless kitchen, although I may end up having long handles on the pantry doors

I might invest in some of that very expensive white vinegar, thanks for the tip

Talk to your mums about who gave up a baby at birth....

The fingers for us are on our handleless cupboards..the sort you push open (spring mechanism) loads of prints on them!
There is really only one they use though...it has the cups in. The other has salt and pepper in....so they don't use that much! Must get some stuff in my cupboards!!!

Get vinegar, spray bottle and a microfiber cloth. You will be amazed....

Hi Gogo

We have burnished wood in crystal gloss on the home theatre media unit and smokey sapelle in cystal gloss on all our vanity's and laundry. I only really notice the finger prints on the inside of the door as it is matt not the outside which is gloss. I am very happy with the gloss, the only thing that drives me a little crazy is the smudge marks on the shiny handles, which isn't a problem as it just wipes off.

But I think the decision has been made

Burnished wood in gloss. We hopefully wont have to many handles, I am hoping for a handleless kitchen although I think I may have to have them on my pantry doors

You should be able to go handleless on the pantry using Blum Tip-On. I visited the Blum display room in Mulgrave, VIC today and had a play with it. It's nice - you just push on the door a little and when you release it gently springs open. It works on a spring and a magnet - not a great deal to it, and shouldn't be difficult to install.

Yes we nearly forgot the media room unit it was a last minute decision, The burnishwood will look great!
The pantry door that MrZebra was talking about is what we have in the kitchen( In my pics it looks like a blank panel but when you push on it, it pivots in and as I found out the hard way out as well ) This one works on a pivot system/magnet.

SOS can I ask about your pantry door/s. Do you have a single or double door?
originally we were going to have a single door that opened inwards but the kitchen guy said no, it would be better to do two doors, that opened outwards. I like the idea of the inward opening doors, so you dont have to walk around the doors when there opened. :th:

Hi Gogo

We have a single pantry door that can either pivot in or pivot out. It opens back inline with the wall then the pantry begins. I didn't realise it could pivot out until one day I got stuck in there as I closed the door, when I complained to the builder they told me . Did I feel like a fool, yes! Most of the time it is open ( pushed in ) as I'm for ever in and out of the pantry. I agree with you a door or doors opened out would drive me crazy. I have attached a pic, the large panel that you see beside the coffee machine and nearest to the stairs is the pantry door.
