Browse Forums Kitchen Corner Re: Kicthens 2Aug 24, 2021 12:46 pm I had my kitchen (and laundry) renovated in 2012 by Kitchen Choice (in Perth) and you might be wondering why I am responding to your query after this length of time since renovation. Kitchen Choice uses/used built-in Nobilia kitchen cupboards. I love my kitchen renovation with a passion. It is so beautiful and top quality. HOWEVER, I am just discovering, now, that the company they sub-contracted the plumbing work to cut corners and did not do their job properly. I have not noticed, until the last week that I had a problem because the appliances are all nice and snugly fitted in (which is what I wanted). I noticed two water leaks and, logically, called a plumber to investigate the matter. Initially, until we pulled the refrigerator out (with difficulty because the wheels had rusted and collapsed) that the leak was coming from a possible break in water pipe serving the fridge, being one of those that has an ice maker and issues cold filtered water. But, no, the fault was the plumbing work by the contractor employed by Kitchen Choice and he had cut corners as well as not doing job properly. The plumber who came to investigate leak (not the same contractor used by Kitchen Choice) pointed out the problem and said that the fridge had been leaking for a long, long time. This was also confirmed by the nice young man who came and installed a new fridge I purchased last week. I have tried ringing Kitchen Choice here in Perth this morning just to let them know they should avoid using this plumber if they haven’t done so already, but I find they are permanently closed. So, what I want to say to you is that a Nobilia (German) kitchen is beautiful but you just need to make absolutely sure that any plumbers or electricians they use are really good. I now have other problems to fix because of this rotten plumber e.g. water damaged walls, floor under fridge and cracked door jamb. |
