Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jun 23, 2013 11:48 pm Hi, I was hoping that someone could please tell me if the dishwasher/fridge (with water outlet) are usually installed by the builder or does it cost extra to install them? The plans state "kitchen - builder to provide services to all fixtures/appliances". He has installed the ovens and cooktop and informed me that the installation of the dishwasher and fridge are not included as part of the contract. Is that correct? I can't find any other mention in the contract re appliances. Thanks for your help. Re: What appliances are installed as part of the build? 2Jun 24, 2013 1:14 am This would be completely unique to your contract. For example in my contract the builder has included a dishwasher as part of a promotion and they are installing it so have provided the water and power connections required. They included single powerpoints for the fridge space and microwave space even though they are not supplying me with a fridge or a microwave. I added in fridge plumbing as an extra. You would need to go through your addenda to see exactly what appliances are included and any connections (water or power) should be shown on your plans. I would say that the standard appliances are just the oven, cooktop and rangehood (or even just a ceiling fan?). Re: What appliances are installed as part of the build? 4Jun 24, 2013 5:31 pm It depends if the cost of the dishwasher and fridge are included in the contract. If they are they I would expect the builder to fit them. If they are not then it is your responsibility to install them after he is finished.
