Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Aug 02, 2015 9:49 pm Just got a painter's quote for entire inside of a town house (ceilings, walls, doors, architraves - all white). Quote includes prepping etc plus painting front fence & a big side gate. We haven't had any other quotes, I really just wanted it done by these guys as they'd done work for a friend. Two painters - 11 days. They've quoted $1200 to supply paint then their hourly rate works out $40 per hour. $8364.00 Being a bit naive probably, but thought the quote would be quite a bit lower but ...... thanks in advance J Life is like a lolly, suck it and see Re: Painter's quote? 3Aug 02, 2015 10:20 pm Hi, thanks for your response just copied & pasted quote below. 2 story townhouse - 15yrs old. I think it is hard to get your head around as it is something you could potentially do yourself and not pay for the labour. You could try and do, for example, one room yourself and see how long it takes. It is more labour intensive than it looks, and time consuming. $40.00 per hour is quite a good rate, I think, it is just that it is x 2 and for many hours, which adds up. Using professional painters will give you a professional look and it will be done before you know it. Re: Painter's quote? 7Aug 05, 2015 10:41 pm Flat acrylic on all walls is a worry. It should be at least matt, and if that; only one Australian paint manufacturer has a matt strong and washable enough to consider for longevity. Suggest low sheen, you deserve it for that quote. They will probably kick back at this request as flat is easier for them as it is harder for you to spot imperfections. if that is the case and you cant win, settle for matt. $1200 is very cheap for paint. Suspect poor quality paint is being used. All in all, id consider another quote. Re: Painter's quote? 8Jul 01, 2016 1:52 pm I think that price sounds about right. I would make sure the paint is a good quality one. I personally wouldn't use anything but dulux hey there! 😊 so, it’s kinda common for standard drawer depths to be around 500mm since most cabinets use this size to fit the usual runners… 3 20922 I was being kind to the builder.
