I am a Libra. I think I've said this before. It means I cannot make a decision, and man, there are SO many paint colours to choose from!
I tried early on to narrow them down. I know I want only neutrals, which in this instance is shades of white, and pale browns/stone shades. So I chucked out every single thing else (no brights, no reds, no blues, no greens, etc).
But there are SO many options in the neutral shades!
I've got maybe 10 shades I like best. And right now 3 sample pots. I think, however, that 2 of those samples are going to be too dark, but that's ok. When I can actually get into my new place, and get them on the walls, then I'll know more and can go back for further samples.
Now, my more specific issue I'd love some words of advice on is this - I am trying to stick to either warm or cool shades.
Here is what colours we'd be doing...
1. General wall colour (in say, Dulux Russian Toffee, or 1/2 or 1/4 Hogs Bristle, or 1/2 Turkish Bread by Wattyl, just for example, something along those lines).
2. Feature wall colour (probably Dulux Fossil Beige suede effect) on one wall in the bedroom (to set off the white bed suite that'll be against it).
3. White ceilings, architraves, skirtings, doors and kitchen cupboards (this will set off the general wall colour hopefully)
4. Carpet in a sort of pale brown/fawn/beige shade. Nothing too dark, but also nothing too creamy or pale, and nothing that'll look grey and blah after a short while.
Ok. So, all this will look great I think when it comes together BUT I'm nervous cause I couldn't stand it if somehow I mucked up and ended up choosing say, Dulux Russian Toffee (which to me is a cool shade and slightly more pinkish-based, as opposed to say, 1/2 Hogs Bristle, which is more yellow-based and so a warm shade) and then Fossil Beige for the feature wall, which is sort of neutral (not obviously warm or cool), but then chose a carpet that was warm, so clashed with the cool walls...
Do you know what I mean here? I want them all to match, but I'm scared I'll lose my brain amongst all the choices, and I'm also scared that I don't really know what I'm talking about as well. Like, what if Russian Toffee ISN'T cool, and my eyes are all wrong and I have no idea!?? What if Hogs Bristle is cool and I think it's warm but once again, am wrong!? AAAGH!
