Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Jul 01, 2015 8:40 pm We are in the process of choosing our exterior colours for our country build on 2.5 acres. Roof/gutters will be Wallaby Fascia - a white, need suggestions for a Dulux colour Weatherboards - either Dulux Ghosting or Dieskau (Ghosting is colour in the middle, Dieskau the last colour) Windows - white So, my questions are what colour scheme would you choose, grey or beige? Should the windows and fascia colour be the same and is white the right choice? The fascia's are also Wallaby as are the gutters. The eaves are Dulux Lexicon. We have a mix of render and cladding in Dulux Klute. You won't find this colour on a card. I went to the dulux trade centre. They have this colour book which contains every colour they have made and do make. I found the colour within this 'encyclopaedia' of colour. If you have an idea of the colours you like you will find a shade lighter or darker in this book for sure:-) Dulux Trade centre was very helpful. I went with a grey scheme and we have black window frames. Re: Exterior Colour Choices 8Jul 05, 2015 8:01 pm Thanks so much everyone. The beige colour Ghosting isn't on a colour chip either, I found it online and got them to make it up for me. I didn't realise there was an encyclopaedia of colours, gosh that may just confuse the issue, lol. Do you have a photo of your colours Dolphinblu? Your house sounds lovely and I'll check out the colour you mentioned. My husband likes the light grey colour, I'm still undecided, maybe a mix of both Claremont35. Thanks so much Loving our new home, Upper Hunter NSW on 2.5 acres Re: Exterior Colour Choices 9Jul 06, 2015 1:06 pm I think it is just a colour book not encyclopaedia ![]() We found that the roof colour changed quite a bit depending on light. We had finished painting the front of the house in one colour and on a very overcast day the roof and walls blended together. I hated it. That's why we opted to go darker grey rather then lighter. We wanted to be different ![]() Will try and post a photo. I've had no luck recently. Re: Exterior Colour Choices 10Jul 06, 2015 10:27 pm All good Dolphinblu, I knew what you meant ![]() ![]() Still on the hunt for the perfect 'greige', I absolutely love a lot of the BM colours, do I really need more sample pots???? Loving our new home, Upper Hunter NSW on 2.5 acres Re: Exterior Colour Choices 11Jul 07, 2015 9:40 pm Danette as you can see the painting continues- noted by the blue painters tape inside the windows ![]() ![]() The second image shows the colour on the cladding, when this side of the house is shaded. My husband and our builder both suggested to go with Colorbond colours, so I chose Wallaby for the roof, Dune for the weatherboards, which was actually my first choice way back when we bought the land and Surfmist windows. There are a few photos online Sonja if you search Ghosting render, it's a lovely colour. Loving our new home, Upper Hunter NSW on 2.5 acres Re: Exterior Colour Choices 14Aug 21, 2015 10:29 am If I were you, I would paint my exterior walls beige because it will give a great contrast to the wallaby coloured roof you have. I would not paint the windows white. But I would most probably paint it to be a dark brown colour. Thank you so much for your reply! I keep wondering if the dover white fascia and gable are too white with wallaby but it might also darken the wallaby a little...I was… 2 8365 This house has potentional, but what would you do to the exterior of the house to give it more street appeal? 0 14516 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Peeling paint on your house exterior, whether it's siding, stucco, or another material, can stem from several factors.
