He has started telling me how much longer it has taken than he thought and how much more sandpaper he has used....I'm guessing he is working up to telliing me it cost more!! Well guess what I aint paying a cent over what was quoted On the plus side the colour for DD's room is fantastic!!! Its Dulux Tavern, goes nicely with the red she has in her room. When the room is put back together, I will post photos. We also put this colour in our room, it goes with everything so when I want to change the colours ont he bed I can do any colour. Ok feel better...grey gone out of my hair and walls as they should be Paula Re: Painting over feature walls 44Jun 20, 2008 1:47 pm Paula He has started telling me how much longer it has taken than he thought and how much more sandpaper he has used....I'm guessing he is working up to telling me it cost more!! Well guess what I aint paying a cent over what was quoted Well maybe if he had of gone to the correct shop and got the correct paint in the first place then he wouldn't have wasted so much time or sandpaper........I wouldn't pay over the quoted price either! Glad that you are happy with DD's room. Look forward to seeing the pics! I agree, stand your ground Paula. He's working you up to make you pay more....don't you just love his method of doing that! Any tradesman worth his/her salt should quote the job using the materials specified by the client and not try to get out of it the cheap way with substitution. They should also be aware of how much work is involved and possibly allow a little extra just in case. Oh and then deduct the discount cause you are a return customer - of course. So all in all, its HIS problem (for not doing it correctly the first time), NOT yours! Just make sure they don't take any shortcuts! I need to get some balls!! I usually shy away from that stuff and get DH to do it. I can just see it now Painter - can I have my money now Me - (after working myself into a frenzy) YOUR NOT GETTING A CENT MORE!!!!!! Painter - I only want what was quoted... Me - sorry Guess what, in the middle of this post - he came to say that he had finished - and didnt try to charge me more. although there was hesitation, it nearly came out!! Its just my paranoia Paula Re: Painting over feature walls 49Jun 20, 2008 2:21 pm Great....now wheres the pics!!!! See the white door…or what ever colour it is, against the green wall????? This is what I keep saying to people about feature walls, where doors open onto a feature walls like above, it ruins the whole effect of a feature wall! Now you see the new wall same colour as the door, looks much better! Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Painting over feature walls 58Jun 20, 2008 2:53 pm WOW Paula, what a big difference it makes!!! The rooms would look so much bigger now too.
Now all those rooms are a blank canvas. You can decorate them with so many things to introduce colour and change the look just as quickly too. Love them, much better! Nice pillows/cushions on your bed btw...... Re: Painting over feature walls 60Jun 20, 2008 3:09 pm Paula, it looks great! Terrific too that he didn't try to charge you more
