Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Oct 03, 2014 4:13 pm I have finally decided on dulux Blue oar for the lower cupboards in my polyurethane kitchen. I want the upper cupboards to be a white but am stuck between lexicon quarter strength and vivid white. The benchtops are going to be Caesarstone Ocean Foam. Does any one have any thoughts on which one may work better, or any other that would work? Re: What Dulux white would work best with Dulux blue oar 3Oct 13, 2014 6:47 pm Vivid white for sure.....I can't believe all the blues I used 15 years ago are now coming back in again. This is a home right on the beach 15 years ago, if not more, but I did the reverse to what you are doing. Pretty sure this is Blue Oar. I had to let the kitchen company know what colour white before I received your reply and I went with Vivid White, so was glad to get your reply as it confirmed my thoughts. One more question about the kitchen colours has come up. As I said, the upper cabinets are Vivid White, the lower will be Blue Oar. So what is best to do on the oven tower cabinet which going from the top has a cupboard, the oven, the microwave and then two drawers and then the kick board. So what colour do we go with the cupboard above and the drawers below? Looking at the oven tower on the left will be the fridge(stainless) and above the fridge will be a white cupboard. looking at the oven tower on the right will be the cooktop, with white cupboards above and blue oar drawers below. So the oven tower cupboard and drawers could be all white, or all blue , or do we tey and stick with white above and blue below? the difficulty with that is the end panels on either side will be white floor to ceiling as I think I am correct that they have to be all the same colour, not half half. I really appreciate the time and input you are putting into mine and other's renos. Many many thanks Re: What Dulux white would work best with Dulux blue oar 5Oct 15, 2014 5:37 am If you notice in my photo I did the pantry door all white. Whilst Blue Oar is a really nice blue, also in the photo you will notice it can be quite overpowering. I would do the tower all white. I would love to see a photo once the kitchen is done Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: What Dulux white would work best with Dulux blue oar 6Oct 15, 2014 6:10 am Will do, we originally said told the kitchen company the tower should be all white but then i started to second guess myself! So was glad to hear your thoughts on this. It will be a few weeks as we are getting other building work done prior to the kitchen going in. I see what you mean about the blue oar being potentially overpowering. I think ours will be a little less in your face blue, as it is our lowers, rather than our uppers that are blue, our island bench is lower and our bench tops are ocean foam. So I am thinking ours may be a but softer. Our surrounding walls are also a much lighter blue and a lot more natural light going in as we have a big window in kitchen and are putting in a bank of velux roof windows above the island bench. Splashback I am thinking starfire glass, probably in the Vivid white, any thoughts on this? Thanks so much for your input, it is hugely appreciated.
