Re: What brand of paint to use? 12May 30, 2014 3:43 pm ashilleong Don't Taubmans and Solver come from the same factory? Whatever you do, get a good primer! Solver and Wattyl are Owned By Valspar and come out of the same Factory. Taubmans is a part of the PPG Group Re: What brand of paint to use? 13May 30, 2014 3:48 pm Taubmans gold 'endure' came out top of the Choice tests for wear/scrubbing/etc, for whatever that is worth. Or at least, it did a year or two ago. My dad used 'generic, whatever the paint shop is selling' in the past and that stuff was -awful-. Yeah, good quality paint costs more, but the end result would have been worth it! Land settled May '14. Loving our new home, Upper Hunter NSW on 2.5 acres Re: What brand of paint to use? 15Jun 24, 2014 2:26 pm I used Taubmans on interior recently and it was like water. After coat 4 I went and bought some Dulux, which was much better. We mostly use Dulux Wash and Wear and more recently have used Wattyl ID. Have been happy with both. Re: What brand of paint to use? 17Jul 08, 2014 8:52 pm I've tried just about all the brands in previous properties. I absolutely love the dulux wash and wear which is what I've selected for my build. I haven't used the Taubmans gold endure though. That sounds good if it's easy to clean according to Choice. Re: What brand of paint to use? 19Sep 23, 2014 5:53 pm I probably used more brands than most over the years but tend towards the upper price bracket for consistent quality of tints and materials etc. Probably the most important things is preparation of the surface but the biggest tip I have for those new to painting is to find a reputable paint store that deals only in paint. Thank you. That is really helpful. Once we get the place done and passed for OC we can upgrade in the future once we get back on our feet and not paying mortgage and rent. 4 5713 That sucks! Hope it all works out. Good to move away from steel anyway for all your reasons, but it's also thermally poor. 16 17774 If what you describe is correct then the brick wall has been dry lined with villa board.
