Browse Forums Finishing Touch Re: feature wall colour 9Jul 13, 2014 11:04 am Therin of Andor My house is being painted in my absence (overseas) and it seems the lounge/TV room and the big "family" room will now be switching furniture and purposes. The main colour on the walls and door frames is to be Hog's Bristle (an off white/cream) throughout the house, but I need to select a suitable colour for a large, dramatic feature wall in the new lounge/TV room, which will have re-polished wood floors and a large, medium blue, fabric lounge suite that has the texture of a wide corduroy. The room is open-plan. (The new "family" room, near the front door, will have the pale yellow retro leather couch with silver chrome legs, a glass-topped, silver chrome coffee table and a silver-framed poster, which is mainly yellow with a splash of red.) Anyway, one painter has recommended red for the feature wall against the medium blue of the lounge suite (although I think he was assuming the yellow/silver furnishing colour scheme was staying in that room), another painter just recommended blue/green, and I also have a large tin of pale mint green paint (originally bought for a different, but now abandoned, idea for feature walls in the entry hall open-plan dining room.) Or, do I get both adjoining rooms with the same long feature wall? Please help this confused colourblind man make his decision from afar! I love red - enough said - Don't do it ...
