Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Jan 26, 2014 8:59 am I think I posted this in the wrong section before so I've reposted it here in finishing touch. I want to accent paint a wall with a cupboard door on it. When you walk in the house, the hallway wraps around a wall and leads into the kitchen and lounge room etc. This wall has a door on it - to a small storage cupboard. I was thinking of painting this wall a 3 shades darker than the main wall colour to accent it because you actually have to walk around it to get to the rest of the house and it would be a nice feature to accent except for the door on it. But I don't know if it will look stupid and, if I did it, would I paint the door the darker accent colour along with the door trim to make the door disappear - and would that look silly. I know you don't accent walls with doors or windows on them but I've also read that there are no hard and fast rules in painting. the wall colour is Dulux Grand Piano Half and the ceiling Whisper white, the trim yet to be whisper white too. I'm thinking of painting the corner wall in Dulux Tuft, which is 2 shades darker than the wall colour.
