They are in very good condition - no bumps or bruises!
Do i take them off the hinges and lay them flat - or do i paint them upright? And do i use a normal nap roller or a foam roller? Any "technique" tips would be greatly appreciated. Re: Painting the internal doors 4May 14, 2008 8:47 pm Ok….if you want to take them off the hinges, good, probably the best way to do it.
But you can do it while they are upright…up to you. I would do the upright! You will need to give them a light sand with a fairly smooth sandpaper, just to clean them up, and prepare the surface for bonding of the new paint. Since your doors have panels in them you will need to use a brush only, no rollers! Buy a good quality long, soft bristle brush. Full gloss paint…..and away you go! Always paint in one direction, never paint back and forward then up and down, one direction only! For me it's up and down…..as the paint dries, your paint strokes will be seen! Up and down is the best, as it flows the line of the door! Have fun! Sorry I can't recommend one or the other so best to rely on comments… 5 3354 Thanks. Yeh ideally that would have been good, but have progressed too far now. Hoping some well placed internal walls fixed up into the battens will provide some… 2 5554 Thank you alexp79 and gommeqld for your advice, that's very helpful, thanks 3 8102 |
