Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 May 12, 2008 9:45 pm So I want white walls (probably slightly off white but it will look white), white celing, white trims, kitchen cupboards will be white, white bench top, big window for splashback, Blackbut floor, greyish bathroom tiles, white bathroom wall tiles.
Am I insane? I can visualise it but admit I'm worried. Anyone have any pics of all white walls and trims? I've just revisited Bel's white kitchen thread and I still like white but haven't seen any "normal" houses with all white walls and trims. http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh43/jacck/oakflooring5.jpg http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii130/johnspj_photos/blizzard10.jpg Re: How much white is too much white? 2May 12, 2008 10:22 pm Rach
A "real house" but I don't think the bench tops are white - however they are very pale. Glass doors break it up a bit too. I'll see what else I can drum up once I have access to my storage device. http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff2/mikeb1968/WhiteKitchen2.jpg mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: How much white is too much white? 3May 12, 2008 10:42 pm My current bathroom consists of all white walls, trim, bench top, cuboards, basin, bath and wall tiles. The only colour is the teracotta floor tiles and the towels and vase. I've always loved the look, but for new house (being a lot bigger) I am going to add more colour.
I will try and remember to post some pics after I have cleaned it tomorrow (original pics are on film, not digital!) ...oh, and the enamel gloss white woodwork has now discoloured to a creamy colour (was renovated about 8 odd years ago) Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... except for timber floor, timber furniture and couches decoration etc all paint is white, all windows and blinds are white, kitchen is completely white it looks lovely! I love white Re: How much white is too much white? 5May 13, 2008 9:01 am Thanks guys, I think I'm going to go with it.
I love white for starters, but I'm also not very brave so I think I'll always be happy knowing I went with what I know best which is white white white!! The window splashback, the big corner stacking doors next the kitchen and the timber floors should break it up, and then I can brighten it up with furnishings. Mike if you do find another pic of white walls with white trims please share!! Most all white places I've seen don't seem to have skirtings or architraves. Re: How much white is too much white? 6May 13, 2008 9:26 am Rachelle,
I was trying last night to attach some pictures of my white home. Couldnt work it out. Sorry. Go for it anyway, I dont think you can go wrong, as you said you can break it up with furniture etc. Re: How much white is too much white? 7May 13, 2008 9:33 am thanks tomtzam1, if you can get it to work I'd love to see pics.
There's a thread in here somewhere that tells you how to paste photos but basically you need a image hosting account, something like photobucket.com. Then you load images into there, and then from there once it's loaded you get some code to past into threads. It will look like this: Re: How much white is too much white? 8May 13, 2008 9:50 am This one looks to have all white walls, celing and trim. The walls might be slightly darker than the celing and trims but close enough for me to se that I LOVE it.
http://www.porterdavis.com.au/#homeview ... /mernda2_p This one does too, although there are a lot of feature walls, we can think about that later: http://www.porterdavis.com.au/#homeview ... /mernda2_p Re: How much white is too much white? 9May 13, 2008 9:55 am I love white too Rach - hubby is making me be brave and go a bit darker on the walls for the new house BUT I am still getting my white kitchen
Just saw the links you posted for PD - gorgeous colour selections they have used. Just a thought if you are interested in knowing the paint colour they have all the paints used in their displays on record so you can call and find out what they have used, I'm assuming it would be Wattyl though Good Luck - I think your home sounds stunning! Re: How much white is too much white? 10May 13, 2008 7:17 pm Hi,
I managed to add some photos. I have broken up my white walls, kitchen etc with the grey tiles, etc. I have also added a few feature walls. Hope this helps. What do you think?http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn306/tomtzam/DSCF2357.jpg?t=1210670060http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn306/tomtzam/DSCF2326.jpg?t=1210670103http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn306/tomtzam/DSCF2325.jpg?t=1210670143http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn306/tomtzam/DSCF2320.jpg?t=1210670155http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn306/tomtzam/DSCF2317.jpg?t=1210670168 Re: How much white is too much white? 12May 13, 2008 8:01 pm Tomtzam1, you nearly did it, you need to put the part that starts with http:/ and ends with .jpg between img brackets.
So start with [*img]http://....jpg[/img*] (take the * out, I just put in there so you could see it). It is called IMG code, just copy the stuff in the yellow box and put it in your post here Received keys to my new home on 16/5/08 Re: How much white is too much white? 13May 13, 2008 8:26 pm "Also, on the photobucket page, there is a link they provide just for cut & pasting onto forums. Yes, this is the easiest way to do it. Just tick the box directly under the picture you want to post, where it says blablah jpg or blablah gif, then go to the 4th line below that where it says IMG code, copy everything in the yellow box, come back to your forum message and paste it in. I often preview before posting - the picture will come up on the preview. And don't worry, I had trouble with this at first too - just see thread below https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=4736
Re: How much white is too much white? 16May 13, 2008 8:47 pm haywgl I love white too Rach - hubby is making me be brave and go a bit darker on the walls for the new house BUT I am still getting my white kitchen Just saw the links you posted for PD - gorgeous colour selections they have used.
