Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Aug 20, 2013 7:02 pm I'm just on finishing touches to rendered house. It's an old 60s red brick house- it's been rendered in Prairie dust, roof is staying the same (dark tiles) and windows and garage door are all in surfmist. So colours are fairly neutral- is it a good or a bad idea to do a bold front door? My two choices are basically some sort of charcoal grey, or to go to say-- manor red in colorbond. What do people think? Do you like or hate bold front doors? Would you prefer a nice subtle charcoal grey front door on a neutral house or something more striking? I know it's not a big deal and it can be changed again but I like to get things right. I don't want to paint it red and have everyone tell me they hate it (sorry, kind of hard renovating by yourself!). Re: Bold front doors? 2Aug 20, 2013 9:23 pm I'm not sure you'll be any wiser after asking the question. Some people will love it, some will loathe it. Your best bet is to take a picture of the house and Photshop* different colour doors onto it. We've gone for a bright blue on our door. (Dulux Wing Commander) Will it look good? Only time will tell. And even then we may hate it and others love it. If it doesn't work out, you're only a paintbrush away from salvation. Get some long brass machine screws and bolt right through the gate and put brass acorn nuts and washers on the other side. It will never come off 1 9084 that will depend on the kitchen bench depth. you'll have to specify it so it allows for both the tap and the sink 1 7402 |
