I've done some samples on off cuts but would like to know which is hard wearing. I've used Sikkens HLS and Cetol Filter 7 pine on one and it really brings out the colour and grain. Also tried Cabbots Cobathane Satin Clear but didn't really bring the colour of the wood out. All will have exterior satin stain on them as some will be exposed to light. They will also ( much to my disgust) have drinks and god knows what else sitting on them trying to scratch and stain them from time to to time even though they are not coffee tables. Opinions on a good tough exterior coating would be extremely appreciated. Also I think I should seal the brick work they are going to sit on. What do I seal them with.
