Doing quite a lot of renovations at the moment and am about to start on the externals of my early 1990's house. I'm looking for suggestions for a colour scheme. Here's a pic.
Will probably redo the lot but may leave the roof colour as is. (The window frames will stay as is). Tiled roof is a bit dirty at the moment and that's accentuated as this pic was taken in the rain. The roof comes up pretty well after a pressure clean but it has lost all it's gloss ofcourse after 20+ years.
The front fence (it will be staying), gutters and downpipes are currently colorbond Sandbank. The roof when cleaned is pretty close to that colour too. The garage doors and windows are the same color, one of the colorbond colours from years ago I think.
Recently went through a bad hail storm and had many windows broken, about 40 cracked tiles etc. etc. The gutters/downpipes on the front of the house are going to be replaced under insurance, as are the garage doors. Front fence will be repainted under insurance too (the hail took quite a lot of paint off my front fence). So the storm has kind of given me a bit of a headstart in changing the colours, although my excess is $1000.
I guess I'm looking for 2 options, one that includes painting the roof and one that doesn't. Roof will likely look a bit funny with 40+ new tiles on it so I'm probably leaning towards painting the roof.
I've been thinking about a totally different colour scheme, perhaps using the darker colourbond colours like Monument or Loft as I thought these would match my bricks better. Not so sure about a darker roof but plenty of people seem to have it these days. Pretty sure the bricks are Boral but I can't remember the name, they were a very very popular brick in the early 1990's.
So I was thinking Monument roof, gutters and garage doors. Downpipes would be something that matches my bricks, maybe a lighter shade of Headland or similar. I'm pretty much lost after that, not sure what colour for the house (hardiplank), facia or front fence. Then again, maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree with Monument and those bricks anyway. Maybe having the roof and garage doors the same is rediculous too. Perhaps I should stick with the light colours like Jasper, Windspray or Dune.
My driveway (and pool surrounds) are stamped concrete as seen in the pic. There's the possibility that I may paint the stamped concrete but there's no turning back once you go down that path. I reseal it every couple of years but it just doesn't seem to last long.
The second option is leaving the roof as is. As you can see the colour scheme is pretty boring at the moment and I'd like to liven it up a bit. What suggestions for colours if I left the roof as is, everything else can change except the window frames.
Any advice much appreciated.
