Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Aug 08, 2012 2:20 pm Hi Everyone! I am new to this forum and I am looking for some much needed help choosing my external colours. So far I have; Roof/ gutters: Monument Bricks: PGH Smoke Fascia: Dune Garage door: Dune Driveway: Charcoal I am stuck on the window colour...Woodland grey is standard (but i dont want them to look silly against monument), so is Anodic Natural Matt (grey/silver). I am not keen on monument windows , i think they may look too black?. What will look the best?. I really appreciate any advice Re: Please help me choose external colours! 2Aug 09, 2012 9:55 pm Hi, What colour mortar will you be using? I would be using off-white flush mortar with white (matt) window frames. The colorbond colour “Monument” will look very contrasting and will be very hot in summer; you will need extra insulation. The roof, gutter and fascia should be the same colour. Without standing in front of the PGH brick sample wall the roof colour can be difficult to choose. A picture of the front elevation of your house would be good. Consider Roof, gutter and fascia in Woodland Grey , Bushland, Windspray or “Dune” can look pinkish grey in the sun. The colour of the garage door has to be chosen with care as it usually sits to one side of the house and needs to be balanced with the rest of the house. Cheers PS The Dulux colour consultants are awesome. If you show them the photos they should be able to figure it out for you straight away 1 1715 Thanks Pulse, thats really helpful and very much appreciated. Also thanks for the pointer on sheathing, thats me watching too many american youtube videos! 6 3311 Before you rip it up, if you can in the grout lines, drill some holes and pour/inject techgrip by sika. I have used it to bond mdf to timber, but in the process it dripped… 1 4442 |
