www.porterspaints.com Love Porter's colour range and also the dandeloins wallpaper. Re: What paint brand? 23Jul 11, 2008 8:49 am another vote for dulux and staying the **** away from bunnings for paint.
i goto a dulux trade centre (although i do have a trade cash card but i went there before that), i find the range is better although you are restricted with brand allot more they will have all the variations so you are more likely to get the correct product. For gloss they have aquaenamel which i am not actually a fan of, its not as smooth to put on, tended to show brush strokes and isnt that bloody glossy. I use an oil based gloss now, the stuff is fantastic you can slap it on it self levels well has a nice gloss on it from first coat the clean up takes a little longer but the results are **** loads better, besides you might be painting for a few hours with one colour but clean up is in minutes it seems to make no sense to worry about the clean up . Ohh and if you like a colour chances are you could get it made up in any brand of paint, i have taken laminex samples, compeditor colours, etc... they are always on there system with the mix. Re: What paint brand? 24Aug 22, 2008 7:54 pm Paints only as good as the person applying it.
A good finish is dependant on many things. Good surface prep. Good brushes, or guns. The right temp. Too hot or too cold can really muck your paint up. A person who knows how to paint! So, ask lots of question from the sales person, if they can't answer you keep looking. If you get the right advise, your paint job should be something you can be proud of. Bunnings are notorious for not mixing the shade correctly. There has been a lot of discussion on here about this very thing. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Thank you. That is really helpful. Once we get the place done and passed for OC we can upgrade in the future once we get back on our feet and not paying mortgage and rent. 4 5727 I am in a difficult situation.
