Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Mar 01, 2012 8:17 pm We are extending and will need to paint the outside of the house, so I figure this is a good time to rethink the colour scheme. The roof is on so no changing that - it is Colorbond Pale Eucalpt. The house is currently a cream colour - it's called Rye Bread - so it has brown undertones I guess you'd say but it is still the green/cream combo. We are surrounded by trees so I'd like to keep the house an earthy, neutral colour but am keen for a change. What colour would you suggest to repaint the house (weatherboard)? Thanks! Re: Suggestions for house colour to go with PALE EUCALYPT ro 3Mar 02, 2012 8:01 am No idea how to post a pic! It is a split level home. The front part of the house has a flatish roofline which then extends out the back to a peaked roof. We are on the lower side of a sloping block so you see the roof first as you drive in the driveway. House itself is somewhat camouflaged by surrounding trees and the fact it is on a sloping block. The house is long with all the bedrooms running the length of the house at the front widthways across the block. The extension with the pitched roof goes out the back - sort of creating a T shape. Not sure I've explained that well. The closest image I can find is this: http://www.toprealestate.com.au/agent-d ... 003181.jpg Obviously not sloping and we don't have a front verandah (and ours is slightly more modern looking I hope) but same kind of idea! Does this help visualise it? Re: Suggestions for house colour to go with PALE EUCALYPT ro 4Mar 02, 2012 3:59 pm Being a green colour, creams naturally go well with it in a traditional sense. You could try evening haze. There was a weatherboard place near me that had a Pale eucalypt roof. They painted over it with something similar to Ironstone and did the boards in sandbark. Whilst not the best combo, it was a big improvement. hi guys. Please be nice. First time home builder in Qld.
