Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Jan 31, 2012 5:44 pm Hi, We just bought our first house before xmas 2011. It is an 1980's house in good nick but needs re decorating. The 1st thing on the list of things needed to be done was the roof, we did a full restoration, everything went well until today. The paint went on and it doesn't look good at all. It's a bit lighter than the colour chip and doesn't blend well as you can see. We haven't spoken to the roofing guys about it yet. The front of the house has a brick façade and the reset is champer board. What could we do to make the roof fit in better? Also, depends what time of day you took the photo and how sunny/cloudy the day was. I think the roof looks great and dark roofs get hot. You could change the gutter colour and the balcony railing a shade - lighter? darker?? Seriously, after a few weeks, you'll be focussing on something else. Will you really get anywhere getting them to go over it? It looks great (assuming my computer is showing the right colour see what I mean?) Re: Roof colour too light 4Feb 01, 2012 3:11 am it looks good just have the gutters painted/replaced and that railing painted double strength the roof colour for gutters and railing to create a colour scheme as such , i'd paint the windows the same colour too but if there aluminium that could be a bit sketchy if it would last Re: Roof colour too light 5Feb 01, 2012 6:48 am thanks for your input, clair likes it so i guess its not too bad. The paint colour is sheild coat "stone". I do want to paint the gutters, the window frames are aliminuim, they need to be paint, would a ecth primer make it last? Firstly, if your house is still under builder's warranty (10 years in Victoria) you should have no need to crawl into roof space but let the builder handle it, unless you… 3 5633 Hi - thanks for your reply.
