Hi,
Looking to change our external colour scheme and really need some opinions and/or advise. The house is a low set, standard 1990's style currently rendered in something similar to Dulux Ecru (but more yellowish) with roof, gutters etc. in Jasper. We intend to change the roof to Colorbond (presently tiled) and think that then would be a good chance to freshen up the outside colours. Originally was going with Shale Grey for the roof but my other half says it looks too much like plain corrugated steel (considered Windspray but wondering if it may get too hot in Gold Coast's Summers, plus the colour card seems to have green undertones which I'm not too keen on). The coping around our pool is similar to Dune and the surrounding pavers are called Limestone (similar to Surfmist) which got me thinking of the following possible combos:
Option 1)
Dune - roof, guttering & downpipes, garage door, rendered front fence (or maybe Foxtail for the front fence)
Shale Grey - walls, front gate
Lexicon Quarter - eaves
Taubmans Millstream - front door (a mid aquamarine-torquoise blue)
Option 2)
Dune - roof, garage door, rendered front fence
Shale Grey - guttering & downpipes, front gate
Lighten Up - walls
Lexicon Quarter - Eaves
Taubman Millstream - front door
Window colour is an unknown (at the moment the windows are hideous bronzy-gold aluminium safety screens). Any recommendations (apart from losing the screens)?
I tend to like clean, fresh, understated colours (plus I don't think this style of house really lends itself to anything too wild) but are the above options just too boring and "vanilla"? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated (particularly from those who have Dune as their main colour and looove their colour combination). We live on the water (canal) and our pebblemix driveway is made up of mainly mid browns if that helps at all.
Sorry, no access to camera so can't post any pics yet.
