Browse Forums Finishing Touch Re: Skirting boards and architraves 2Feb 19, 2008 12:13 am We've gone with the double pencil round profile.
We upgraded to 90mm from the std 67mm for the skirting boards and upgraded to 67mm from the std 42mm for the architraves. ![]() ![]() Re: Skirting boards and architraves 3Feb 19, 2008 9:48 am Is the reason why you chose 90mm is because you'll have timber flooring installed afterwards? Our builder would be installing the flooring (tiles) and he normally does this before the skirting boards are installed. Not sure what profile would best suit a modern/contemporary house but we are thinking of using the NSW Step Profile. It all depends on whether we decide to make them a feature or not. Re: Skirting boards and architraves 4Feb 19, 2008 9:54 am Spot on dna!!!
The boards are 14mm off memory and we originally wanted to have the skirts tacked on, but then they wouldn't be painted....OR raised...and that was going to be extra and there was no guarantee it would look nice afterwards..... So we elected to upgrade and go the 90mm as even with quad you will still see a fair bit of the skirts.... Do you have a pic of the profile your thinking of? ![]() Re: Skirting boards and architraves 5Feb 19, 2008 10:41 am ![]() Spot on dna!!! We've upgraded to the same size architraves and skirting boards as you, Phoenix. Re: Skirting boards and architraves 8Feb 19, 2008 12:19 pm ![]() Go bullnose! ![]() OI!
