Browse Forums Finishing Touch Re: Working with DULUX textured paint 2Jan 02, 2012 8:08 am kels We bagged our front fence the other day and are painting it with textured paint this week. Has anyone got any tips from experience using this stuff? I've never painted with it before. Yes Kels, we recently used Dulux Medium Texture Paint to achieve a rendered look on a blueboard wall. Thrilled with the result and product exceeded our expectations. Used a good quality long nap roller....application directions recommends following this with a sponge? We didn't see the need for this. Load the roller with paint and don't try to spread too far on the surface. Have since seen Dulux make a 'textured paint roller' (Bunnings) - might be worth a try. I have pictures on our blog - construction of wall/pergola followed by the textured paint. http://www.oursavannah28.blogspot.com Good Luck Carlisle Homes 'Savannah 28' Visit our Blog: http://www.oursavannah28.blogspot.com Handover 31st March, 2011 - Landscaping completed Re: Working with DULUX textured paint 3Jan 02, 2012 7:21 pm Wow Debra50! That looks amazing! Thanks for sharing Yep, I bought the special Dulux textured paint roller this morning... we're using the Full Cover texture tomorrow in Ironstone colour tomorrow on our front fence and bagged brickwork under our house. Will take photos Such a shame that after doing all these wonderful things to our home we'll be selling it in under a month and moving on to another fix-me-up! Noooooo! Re: Working with DULUX textured paint 4Jan 02, 2012 7:28 pm Good Luck - would love to see photos plus your feedback on textured roller. When we bought paint at a Dulux Trade Centre no-one mentioned the textured roller. Either way it worked perfectly but I would think the special roller would load the paint better. It looks terrible! The colour is wrong and the texture was horrid. I should have bought fine texture, not full cover... Only did about a square metre of the 30 square metre fence and I pulled the plug on it. Going to paint it with low sheen paint instead. It looked a bit like popcorn ceiling in navy blue!!! We used the Medium Texture - Trade Centre did say the full cover is not easy to apply and I would think fine is barely noticeable. Worth an email to Dulux Customer Service on your experience. It wasn't the same model, but the symptoms were pretty much the same: the compressor would start and then stop… 3 7551 Okay sorry silly me, my wife has solves the mystery for me. It’s because the labels on the ports are all wrongly positioned by the builder hence it confuses me. 2 1386 Hi Alex, Thanks for the reply again. I had a chat with the builder, he said he will use primer, then hydrotec which comes with colour and sealer as well. A Renderer I… 12 18100 |
