Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Nov 16, 2011 1:00 pm As part or our rennovations / extension we are knocking down a wall between our old dining and living rooms to create more space. It means we will now have a very long wall in this area - about 7m. Do you think this is too long to be a feature wall? As it currently stands (before the knockdown) we have the 2 walls painted in two different colours as they are at the moment two separate rooms - obviously this can't happen once the wall comes down. Are we better off painting the whole room one colour and forgetting the feature wall? How popular are feature walls these days? We plan on having a feature wall in both of the kids rooms and possibly our room. Re: Feature Wall in Living Room? 2Nov 28, 2011 5:12 am Probably need a photo of that as it is being being done and maybe a room layout plan? You might be still be able to have a F/wall, yes they are still popular, but you don't have to have one. You can use your furnishings and artwork to create points of interest and colour in the room. Michelle, I've decided I will go with a feature wall as I'd like to continue Antique White USA as the neutral colour though the house and would like to add a bit of a feature wall to break it up that is not too bright but still warm and which blends in with the Antique White USA. I have also decided to extend whatever colour I choose through to the family room as well (with another feature wall) Our carpet will be a mid chocolatey brown colour - Pebble from the Carpet Court Blissful range. Carpet - Pebble Carpet Court Blissful Range - sort of mid chocolate brown Walls - Antique White USA Feature Wall - looking at Puddle, Blind Date, others?? Which one do you think would look best?
