Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Sep 26, 2011 12:47 pm Have posted this in the extension thread too but am getting no comments there! My first post here and needing some advice on painting the exterior of our house. We are currently having an extension built onto our existing house. The house is about 30 years old and has reddish brown bricks with Deep Terracotta Bricks at the bottom - it has a split look with deep terracotta on the bottom rows and reddish brown on the top!. We have tried to match the bricks as best as possible for the new extension. I am trying to decide on coulours for the Gutter / Fascia / Eaves / Downpipes etc. We currently have dark green Colourbond fences and matching green guttering on the house. I want to get away from the green look of the house but still have it blend in with the green colourbond fences as I don't want to have to repaint all of the fences!. We also have an enclosed garage which was enclosed with Merino Colourbond about 10 years ago with a Cottage Cream door. Our window frames are boring silver aluminium and we have chosen APO grey for the new extension windows so it blends in with the rest of the house. Can I have some recommendations of colours for the exterior finishes? I was thinking maybe Dune or Paperbark for the gutters and Fascia. Not sure about the eaves. Are there any other colours that would liook good with the other details I have described? Obvously greys would probably look stupid. Thanks Re: Exterior Paint Advice - Extension 2Sep 27, 2011 6:42 am I’ll try and have a look for you tonight after work. Any chance you could post a photo of your house? viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1272 Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Exterior Paint Advice - Extension 3Sep 27, 2011 4:16 pm It depends on the shade of green you have on your fence but I think Paperbark would work pretty well because it generally looks good with dustier greens. If you look on the Colorbond website Evening Haze looks good with the various green shades as well. Not sure if it was called Caulfield Green maybe or Cottage Green. I will have a look at Evening Haze. Do you think Paperbark is too yellow? Would it get dirty too easily? What about Dune? Is it a beige colour or gray? I can't really tell from the pictures in the brochure. I'm having trouble putting up a picture ATM!
