Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Jan 27, 2008 3:49 pm Hi all,
Long time reader, first time poster. My husband and I are building a home in Northern Melbourne and are well into the planning process. Our home is the Cremorne 34 by PD. I would love some advice on our colour selections from brick through to interior walls. Unfortunately I don't have any piccies on photobucket yet, but it seems that everyone is so knowledgeable on this forum that I will probably get some great advice without pictures. Bricks: Boral Mocha (50mm) Roof: Boral Striata Colour through tiles Charcoal Grey Gutters and Fascia: Colourbond Woodland Grey Garage Door: Timber look Cedar Window Frames (front only) and Front Door: Stained Cedar (Solver stain) Window Frames (side of home) Southern Star White Birch Render portico: Colourbond Dune Interior walls: Wattyl Kid leather Archs and skirts: Wattyl Chalkdust Kitchen cupboards: Formica Vinyl wrap Face routed Antique Wiluna White Kitchen benchtop: Quantum Quartz Pebble cove Kickboards: Laminex Zincworks Laundry, ensuite, bathroom cupboards: Laminex swiss pear Benchtops for above: Laminex Limestone Kickboards: Laminex Zincworks Tiles for the wet areas have not been selected yet (long delay for appt) but will be a browny mocha colour. Home will have floorboards throughout ground floor except rumpus and formal lounge. Still researching hardwood - maybe spotted gum??? Carpet upstairs - colour still researching - oatmeal colour What do you think??? I would be grateful for some honest advice as we have time to alter our selections - but not long..... Kerrie Re: Colours - how did we go? 2Jan 27, 2008 4:03 pm Kezandcheds…..I have another home to look at over the weekend that I promised I would do.
If I get a minute I will go through your selections, it takes time as I have to pull out all my samples of what you have chosen. Meanwhile lets see what everyone else says. ![]() If I forget….pull this post back up to the top again with a comment. I was hoping I might get your expert opinion!!! Re: Colours - how did we go? 4Jan 27, 2008 5:17 pm Kezandcheds….looks like I can start with you now after all.
What I need is – 1) The link to your façade of your home you are building off your builder’s website. 2) Your brick colours ….roughly. Chocolate???? Bricks: Boral Mocha (50mm) is that a chocolate ???? Roof: Boral Striata Colour through tiles Charcoal Grey Gutters and Fascia: Colourbond Woodland Grey Garage Door: Timber look Cedar Window Frames (front only) and Front Door: Stained Cedar (Solver stain) Window Frames (side of home) Southern Star White Birch Render portico: Colourbond Dune Lets do this first, then I will move on to the internals. ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Colours - how did we go? 5Jan 27, 2008 8:59 pm See how you go with this:
www.porterdavis.com.au/#homeviewer/cremorne/41 Then view the Mernda home for the facade that are having. The arch at the front is not a part of the facade. (only having portico rendered though) Bricks are from Boral www.boral.com.au/brick_selector_HG/defa ... den_Bricks Then select: State - Vic Range - Elan Subrange - Gallery Slimline Mocha 50mm. It looks quite brown on screen, however the bricks have had a slight reddish tinge to them when we have viewed homes. I really appreciate you taking the time to look at our ideas. Kerrie Re: Colours - how did we go? 6Jan 28, 2008 9:14 am I can’t find the Cremorne 34 on their site!!!
But I remember this website, no wonder this building company is popular, gorgeous homes! ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Colours - how did we go? 8Jan 28, 2008 9:18 am ![]() ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Colours - how did we go? 9Jan 28, 2008 9:20 am Riiiight.
When there first time around, wake up Michelle! ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Colours - how did we go? 10Jan 28, 2008 9:33 am Boy…..these companies are getting very protective of their websites.
I can’t copy and past any of the selections onto a page so I can look at them all at once, very frustrating! ![]() I like the slimline of the bricks, very modern! Bricks: Boral Mocha (50mm) Roof: Boral Striata Colour through tiles Charcoal Grey Gutters and Fascia: Colourbond Woodland Grey Garage Door: Timber look Cedar Window Frames (front only) and Front Door: Stained Cedar (Solver stain) Window Frames (side of home) Southern Star White Birch Render portico: Colourbond Dune ********************************** I think Dune is nice contrast colour for your bricks, should look good. The home on the website…. front render colour is too dark I feel. All looks good, well done. ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Colours - how did we go? 11Jan 28, 2008 9:34 am There is no photo of the 34. It is the same as the 41 - just a little smaller!! The photo from Mernda is the only one that has the same facade as we are using.
Kerrie Re: Colours - how did we go? 12Jan 28, 2008 9:44 am No problem…..all I need to know is what brick colour, render colour and where the render is, a garage door is a garage door. I understand the style of home you are having, that’s all I need. ![]() I will look at your internal colours later today, I need to start on the hotel project I have. ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Colours - how did we go? 13Jan 29, 2008 8:35 pm Interior walls: Wattyl Kid leather

Laundry, ensuite, bathroom cupboards: Laminex swiss pear ( one of my favourites!) Benchtops for above: Laminex Limestone Kickboards: Laminex Zincworks This all looks good as well! Thankyou for taking the time to look at this for us. Going back to work this week has meant less time surfing the net for house ideas. I agree about the kicks- I wasn't totally convinced but wasn't sure what I wanted so agreed with the colour consultant. Any suggestions? I was thinking maybe just match it with the cupboards in both kitchen and bathrooms. The Antique Wiluna White is very different in real life. I was quite suprised when I looked at the colour in the brochure. I'm quite sure that it wont be that yellow. Unfortunately Talc White was not an option for us through our builder.
