Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Jul 21, 2011 11:29 am Hi there, I'm building a house and really struggling with choosing a render colour for the front entry. That's the only bit that will be rendered, rest of the facade will be exposed brick. bricks: austral "keswick", mortar colour: off white joint: flush roof + micro bead cladding: colorbond ironstone fascia: colorbond monument gutter: colorbond monument garage: colourbond ironstone windows: grey or colorbond monument front entry/portico render: ?? front door: ?? can anyone pls help suggest render colour that will match compliment the roof & bricks without blending into either and looking too dull? my preference is a dark charcoal-y colour similar to monument but thinking that might be too much monument on the facade. what do ppl think? PS - i'd upload a pic of the front elevation if i knew how! Re: need help choosing external portico render colour 6Jul 22, 2011 8:41 pm fmus0993 just to give the facade another dimension....what do you think? The garage will really stick out with that combo. I'd prefer to see porch and garage match. You could do: fascia, porch, garage: dune cladding: ironstone or western mayall Re: need help choosing external portico render colour 7Jul 22, 2011 8:59 pm d@n fmus0993 just to give the facade another dimension....what do you think? But if a dune fascia is sandwiched between an ironstone roof and ironstone cladding then won't it look strange? But if a dune fascia is sandwiched between an ironstone roof and ironstone cladding then won't it look strange? Fair point. But face on you may not see the roof. ooh thanks for the samples - makes it so much easier to visualise! I think we still like the 1st of the 2 samples colour combo the best, also prefer ironstone garage to dune garage. (less dirt/dust will show up on a dark garage..) Is there any other colour (dulux or otherwise) that you would suggest for the render - to better fit in with the other colours in the top sample? thanks. Does anybody who I can contact to adjust the portico on the ground to relevel the portico and roof? 1 831 I am looking for someone who might have tackled a similar issue as me. I have a few rendered interior walls, the surface condition is hardly flat. I can see all the bumps… 0 7964 |
