Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Jul 02, 2011 2:51 pm My husband and I recently bought a house with a magnificent view its open and airy and currently painted 'cream' with white skirting boards and ceilings. I would like to repaint in a white or off white tone however I am not sure what colour to choose and although I wish to choose a white/off white I don't want the house to feel cold but then again I don't want it to look yellow. Also I have to consider the tiles in our house that are an off white tone. Are you able to make any suggestions with regard to colours? I have looked at Whisper White, Stowe White, Antique White, 1/4 strength Hogs Bristle and someone has just suggested Orchid? I'm confused please help. Vanessa Re: WHITE, OFF WHITE ?? HELP.......... 3Jul 19, 2011 7:52 pm We did 1/2 strength off white and 1/4 strength off white with one wall in Hog Bristle in a room with floorboards. Every time I walk in I love it. I tried Antique White, because lots of people suggest it, but found it too pink and a bit cold Re: WHITE, OFF WHITE ?? HELP.......... 5Aug 17, 2011 6:51 pm We had Antique White and although it was great in the bright rooms it was a little yellow in the darker rooms. We've just had the first coat of Natural White and it looks great. Yes it's white but has a real warmth without the cream. Re: WHITE, OFF WHITE ?? HELP.......... 7Sep 01, 2011 10:35 am We used Dulux Whisper White on our trims and its a nice colour. We have a dark colour on the wall (Dulux Blind Date) so I cant vouch for how Whisper White will look as a wall colour Check out our renovation in progress at http://www.ourdiydream.com Follow us on facebook http://www.facebook.com/ourdiydream Check out what we are 'pinning' http://pinterest.com/ourdiydream/ Re: WHITE, OFF WHITE ?? Vanessa If you are after more of a true white why not consider Dulux Lexicon or White on White...both of them will be in the Dulux White's neutrals brochure...other wise Antique White USA is always a good option....be careful as Dulux do have Antique White USA & Antique White which are completely different colours. WHy not look at the dulux website where you can upload a picture of one of your rooms and adjust the colour selection..they have a TV advertising campaign about this at the moment. Re: WHITE, OFF WHITE ?? HELP.......... 9Sep 02, 2011 12:43 am My house is painted in Antique White USA, with the trim in the same colour only satin. It's nice, it looks white without being stark, it has made the house much lighter and cleaner looking than the formerly aged cream that was there before. Re: WHITE, OFF WHITE ?? HELP.......... 11Oct 04, 2011 11:11 pm Hi, my house currently been painted , only lounge room to go. I went with 1/2 strength antique white USA on walls, quarter on ceiling and quarter on Trims and doors in a gloss. Looks fabulous, nice and light really opens my small house up. Good luck. Re: WHITE, OFF WHITE ?? HELP.......... 12Oct 05, 2011 10:32 am We have Antique White USA on the walls and Natural white on the ceiling...... it looks great..... it gives this warm feeling at home...... Natural White throughout would also look great..... coz then it wouldn't have that bit of cream tinge that Antique white throws sometimes...... have a look at this Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ might help you decide Re: WHITE, OFF WHITE ??
