Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Mar 19, 2011 5:23 pm I have these beautiful cedar ceilings in a 40 year old house we have just bought. They absolutely glow and as we are sanding the disgusting mission brown off the windows which are also cedar, I would like to seal them with the same finish. It has a mellow glow to it and smells beautiful. Any ideas?

Re: cedar finish - sikkens or cutek? internal finish 7Apr 03, 2011 11:50 am you will want to use an oil, sikens is pritty much the ducks nuts of timber oil stains. the gr8 thing about sikens is the colour ranges and the penitration it acheives when sucking into the timber, when it degrades its easyer to recoat as it fades rather than breaks down . I’m restoring all my 40yr old windows and I want to install seals around the casements. I’ve sanded back and oiled the frames with sikkens. My plan is to box up inside… 0 6510 Thanks.
