Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Feb 13, 2011 8:31 am Could someone please give me an idea how much we should expect to pay for painting all internals of our new home. House is double storey brick veneer, high ceilings and total 440sq m. My Dh is considering tackling the job himself, but I dont think he realises what a big job it is, so I am trying to see if we can fit a professional painter into our budget. Location, Sunshine Coast Qld. PS I dont mind if you price with or without paint. Re: Cost of a painter for internal, new build? 2Sep 02, 2011 11:53 am No idea.... that's not the answer you wanted... but I had friends who got professionals in to do the ceiling and doors and then they tackled the walls themselves. Saved money doing some themselves and got the hardest bits done by professionals... could be an idea!! or get the professionals to do your entrance/kitchen/living/stairs etc. and do bedrooms, etc yourself. Re: Cost of a painter for internal, new build? 3Sep 03, 2011 7:52 pm Ha ha, perhaps the guest bedrooms, where I wont have to look at the finish? Thanks for that, you've given me something to think about, might be worth considering a partial professional job. PS I think its a guy thing, to be able to boast ya did it yaself? And I dont mind that, as long as it looks half decent! Re: Cost of a painter for internal, new build? 4Sep 03, 2011 9:15 pm My house is a similar size, but without the high ceilings. I had quotes ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 to do the interior MINUS ceilings and trim. Bear in mind I'm in Sydney, so that probably adds to the price! Judie Thank you alexp79 and gommeqld for your advice, that's very helpful, thanks 3 7864 The last home I lived in didn't have a pool and when i went to sell it the agents were not happy, even telling me to put one in to sell the place. The agents weren't happy… 2 4160 Thanks. Yeh ideally that would have been good, but have progressed too far now. Hoping some well placed internal walls fixed up into the battens will provide some… 2 5369 |
