Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 May 19, 2006 11:08 am I'm stuck with colours to choose for a few rooms in our house.
1. L-shaped living/dining room. Our dining set is cocolate brown with frosted glass accents. Couches are off-white. The coffee table is made of glass. The carpet is very light beige/off-whiteish. I need ideas for some lively colours to go with the theme. 2. Master bedroom: chocolate brown furniture, and offwhite/light beige carpet. I'm gonna buy new bedding to match the colour scheme of the room. Any ideas for paint colours? 3. Kitchen & family room are joint, as is the hallway that leads from the living area to the kitchen and lounge area. The cupboards are white. Benchtops are dark grayish blue, and the tiles are light orangey peach. Paint colour ideas please. Thanks! Lime greens or oranges for the above as a feature wall only. 2. Master bedroom: chocolate brown furniture, and offwhite/light beige carpet. Again lime greens and oranges for your new doona and cushions. 3. Kitchen & family room are joint, as is the hallway that leads from the living area to the kitchen and lounge area. I would go with the greyish blue from your bench tops as a feature wall, making the colour quite strong. All other walls in the house…as EGGENZ has said the Dulux Antique white U.S.A. This is an excellent flow colour, helping to accent your feature walls. I fear we are a little late to help you colour wise, hopefully not. I painted our house completely throughout with the one colour and it opened the house up twofold, not to mention make every room look huge. You can then put what ever colour you wish in any room and change the whole scheme without actually changing the colour of the walls.
It was the perfect colour for what was needed then - unlike now - where I just don't think it would do this house justice. Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7158 Thank you. That is really helpful.
