Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Jan 23, 2011 9:49 pm Hi everyone Well we are getting to the stage of choosing paint colours! Plasterers will be finished in a week or so...so I need to make my choices asap..... House will be painted China White half strength with white trims. I have two girls and a boy. BoI am having trouble deciding on feature colours though! Girls have lots of white furniture, I prefer more serene/scandy style of decorating if that helps with colours. Boy has alot of navy, red and denim linen so thinking something more grey blue for the wall? I have heard Dirty Denim is a nice colour but can't find who makes it and what tone it is.... Girl thinking pale green, sage colour, I prefer more soft or muted tones. Girl wants pink, I hate pink!!!! Again more muted, nothing bright, any suggestions? Thanks in advance Re: Help with kids bedroom colours please!!!! 2Jan 28, 2011 3:01 pm I let my children choose their own colours from a paint chart and then halved the tint. I think whoever spends the most time in a bedroom should be allowed to choose the colour they live with, as I have very strong preferences myself and couldn't bear my personal space being a shade I didn't like. I'm after sage green for my ensuite and a soft Wedgewood blue for my bedroom with lots of white trims and maybe plantation shutters, so I love the look you're after. The boys though want some awful colours, but I can close their door and pretend it doesn't exist most of the time! Try a soft musk pink, or maybe a lilac with white everthing else and maybe some sage green cushions or a rug for a light spring feel. After a while you won't even notice the colour and she'll change her mind in a few years anyway. Re: Help with kids bedroom colours please!!!! 3Jan 28, 2011 3:44 pm Hi, I did Hogs Bristle 1/4 strenth in boy - with a feature fine blue/red/cream striped wallpaper on one wall. I also painted his WIR in bright blue. With my little girl I did a deep taupe colour, with bright pink WIR. I also put rose embossed wallpaper for effect under the colours. Looks lovely, but only if you walk up close to it and even notice it there!!! but the wallpaper in my boys room is great! just an idea... A thankful person is a happy person. The patio faces west and is always in sun even though it has a shade directly… 0 3568 Personally, considering your layout (study/work desks in bedrooms), I don't think you have any other option but to leave NW windows and make them as big as possible e.g.… 7 10455 |
