Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Jan 06, 2011 8:42 pm Hi All,
I am having massive stress attacks over our external colour scheme. I really wanted a surfmist roof but everyone has told me white is too difficult and has to be cleaned constantly..so we're now thinking a Jasper roof...more practical. Our house is a small lot (see the plans which hopefully are attached) and I'm reluctant to have a jasper garage door because it's really heavy. Would this colour combination work (concerned about Jasper and Surfmist as I can't see anyone who has combined)? Option 1: Roof: Jasper Garage: Surfmist Linea Board (at top of house): Surfmist Front door: Surfmist House colour: Taubmans Twiggy The other alternative is: Option 2: Roof: Jasper Garage: Dune or paperbark Linea Board (at top of house): Dune or paperbark Front Door: Dune or paperbark House colour: Taubmans Melodic (light beige) With this combination we could also do a feature and make the wall surrounding the garage door dune or paperbark (same colour as garage door). Any and all feedback is so welcome...I am highly confused!!! Thanks so much PK Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: External Colours - HELP! 2Jan 07, 2011 7:23 am Facade pic would really help and no plans are attached here. See this for help. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=42169 Re: External Colours - HELP! 5Jan 07, 2011 12:00 pm If we went with option 1 (surfmist for the garage door) we would have surfmist fascia - can you do this on a jasper roof without it looking weird? If we went with option 2 (dune garage door) we would have a jasper fascia. Window frames are grey. It's not too late to swap to white though... Re: External Colours - HELP! 7Jan 07, 2011 9:47 pm I think I've been going about this all wrong...I have been obsessing over the roof colour...because the roof goes on soon and I have no idea what I want!!! Maybe you can make a suggestion for the external wall colour. We are looking for a warm neutral colour but nothing too dark. I love the colour of the house below - it's just stunning (it looks a little greenish in this image but it's more of a neutral beige). If you show them the photos they should be able to figure it out for you straight away 1 1661 Thanks Pulse, thats really helpful and very much appreciated. Also thanks for the pointer on sheathing, thats me watching too many american youtube videos! 6 3055 Before you rip it up, if you can in the grout lines, drill some holes and pour/inject techgrip by sika. I have used it to bond mdf to timber, but in the process it dripped… 1 4370 |
