I am currently painting my Stegbar MDF built in robe sliding doors.
My plan was to do one coat of primer, then two top coats of semi-gloss.
The doors are routed, and I seem to be having a problem with the evenness of the paint between the flat bits of the door that I have painted with a small foam roller, and the more intricate bits I've done with a brush.
If you look at the following image - you can see what I mean.. The areas around the routed parts have a lot more paint than the flat bits- and this is after two top coats..

Should I be sanding between the top coats? What else can I do to achieve a smooth finish across both flat and routed sections?
Appreciate any advice...
