Forgot to say that I painted the timber handle of my little hand garden spade in my water based enamel white (same internal paint as I used on skirts) and impressed to report that it hasn't scratched yet!! I was expecting, with rough treatment and digging around plants, taking weeds out, etc. that the paint would be damaged very soon. However, it's holding on impressively!! Oh, the reason I painted the handle (from the original light stain/lacquer finish) is just because I kept losing it in the garden as it's soooo hard to see it - being all earthy colour like the ground. So the white handle now stands out and I don't need to spend hours looking for it (it spent a few nights outside as I couldn't find it)!! So, quality wise, this water based enamel paint does get a tick from me (so far). My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... The yellowing mainly occurs to white or very light colours. 1 2270 This link might answer your question.
