Browse Forums Finishing Touch Re: Finishing master bed help please! 21Nov 15, 2010 10:55 pm I like the wall colour. It works nicely with your white furniture and the drapes go well. I used white, beige and black in my living room in a classic french chic style. The black adds some depth to the more neutral tones. The chandelier decal is to my liking and would look great but people can be funny and if it's not to there liking they are turned off a place almost instantly. Black would give the room the depth it needs but you might prefer a colour. Whatever colour you choose apply it in the form of cushions, throws, a reading chair, a mirror, paintings etc. Perhaps even going with a real black chandelier. That would look fabby. Re the brick wall - is there any room to perhaps put some potted lilly pillies or the like outside the window? I had a similar problem and went and purchased some pretty potted trees - put them outside the window and it fixed the problem. You could then frost half the window - say the top part and that way you have an outlook without it being brick. The plan is to get some greenery down the dead side of the house, in front of the wall, so thats easy fix I'm trying to figure out what to hang above the bed, as I think that wall needs something, and the decals are removable, which is why I thought them, plus there is a wall to the left of the bed that is empty too, so I need something on at least one of them my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Finishing master bed help please! 23Nov 16, 2010 3:38 pm Oh well if it's removable then great! Other than that perhaps a large framed mirror or a print or even a row of prints above the bed to give the room more volume. If you are going with the black chandelier decal then perhaps choose some prints with black frames for the other walls and incorporate black in the rest of the room through cushions and throws. Black is so easy to work with as an accent. Black is black so it's easy to match pieces. I love black and neutrals together. It's a very elegant look and perfect for sale preparation. I don't think it can offend any potential buyer! Atleast I hope not A few visual ideas for you Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Finishing master bed help please! 24Nov 16, 2010 8:55 pm Thanks so much paddyandbeau, you've given me some good ideas, I'm waiting on a few delivieries, will be sure to show you when I'm done! my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Finishing master bed help please! 25Nov 16, 2010 10:58 pm You're so welcome! Now the only thing I would comment on is the cushion on the chair (Kiwi told you to bling it up) it looks a bit flat - can you add another frilly red cushion? The heart shaped mirror is gorgeous. Mclaren- thanks The cushion looks better irl, its a knitted cover, but I might consider making a little red round one for there as well. I just think lamps are the bomb. and you are soooo close with that vase. no one will ever know it isnt a lamp ha ha or maybe just some flowers...? that corner needs to be a really special chill out spot for you. one you want to sit down and watch the kids play out the front while you flip through a mag etc maybe a throw on the chair? a red one and keep the knitted cushion maybe a foot rest? honestly...maybe just a red throw will do it. the colour that is in that picture above your bed. http://www.google.co.nz/imgres?imgurl=h ... sch&itbs=1 http://www.google.co.nz/imgres?imgurl=h ... =143&ty=82 with a foot stool http://www.google.co.nz/imgres?imgurl=h ... sch&itbs=1 with a throw on the chair http://www.dreamstime.com/corner-chair-image741715 the rooms looks soooooo good. like a hotel! well done you. or just sit back and enjoy it, cos you deserve it. it looks ACE!
