You should have the opportunity to see what's available before you have to choose. Picking "on the spot" is a BAD idea. Start by collecting some pictures of interiors you like and then narrow it down to a broad colour scheme (eg browns, greys, whites....whatever). Find out what brand of paint they use, which bricks are in their standard range etc and get hold of some brochures so you can at least pick the main items before you turn up to your appointment. If you have wall and trim colours chosen, plus a rough idea of your overall scheme, it will be much easier to pick tiles and cabinet/colours and so on.
