Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Sep 27, 2010 9:23 am Hi Everyone, I’m in the process of building a few townhouses and would like your help and advice on our exterior colour scheme. We need to submit our colour scheme to council before we go any further and have decided on the following so far: Face Brickwork: Zinc (Austral) Roof Tiles: Newcastle (Bristle) or something similar – any suggestions??? Main Render: liking the look of Shale Grey- thoughts/ suggestions? Would also love some suggestions on the colours for the fascia and downpipes/ guttering. I have got so many colours going through my head, so would like the opinion of others and call on there experience. If anyone has pictures, please do post. Any advice would be much appreciated. Re: Help on Exterior Colour Scheme 3Sep 27, 2010 11:49 am d@n Try to post a pic of your facade. That will help to make a decision. Hi d@n, Im new to this forum and im having trouble uploading an attachment of the facade. Its a jpg file that is 100KB. Its stating the following: "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached." Do you know what this means and any way of psoting my facade? Re: Help on Exterior Colour Scheme 4Sep 27, 2010 12:28 pm The attachment feature doesn't work. You'll need to use a free hosting site eg. http://www.imageshack.us
upload your image there and post the link here. Re: Help on Exterior Colour Scheme 5Sep 27, 2010 12:35 pm Thanks so much!!! Please see below links for facade http://img412.imageshack.us/i/facadeunit1.jpg/ http://img15.imageshack.us/i/facadeunit2andunit3.jpg/ Looking forward to peoples feedback. Re: Help on Exterior Colour Scheme 6Sep 27, 2010 12:53 pm Re: Help on Exterior Colour Scheme 8Sep 27, 2010 1:36 pm The two uprights and portico entrance is ideal to make a feature. Zinc is quite a dark brick so i'd be careful about using too much of it, unless you like dark facades. Unit 1 being wider, you have more room to play with what you colour. Still it's a nice looking brick. Shale and windspray should go nicely with it. Any of the neutral greys will fine. I'm match your downpipes with your render. But It's personal choice what you decide with fascia and gutters. Re: Help on Exterior Colour Scheme 9Sep 27, 2010 1:49 pm We are looking at doing the ground level all brick and the top rendered along with the pilars. We both like the look of the zinc so that is a definate and have seen a few houses with this brick and liek the look of it. Shale and windspray are a nice colour and am leaning towards that, but my partner is thinking that a colour which has a touch of cream in it would be nice as well. Im not to convinced with that one. We want to do our windows with a drak/medium gry but not sure on that either. Wouldnt mind seeing some pictures with this kind of combination if anyone has used them before. Re: Help on Exterior Colour Scheme 10Sep 27, 2010 8:36 pm Has anyone used the following combination: Brickwork: Zinc Render: Shale Grey (even thinking about windspray) Some other colours that were thrown to me today include: Linseed Pensive Putty Powered Rock What are everyones thoughts and suggestions?
