What a great thread and fantastic makeovers everyone!
I love picking up bargains on ebay, secondhand stores and op shops.
It's a bit of a thrill when you find something cheap and can visualise it
in your home, turned into something special.
A while back, I decided that I wanted a red, round table for my kitchen, but it
had to have legs, not a pedestal base. I wandered into a secondhand store
and found exactly what I wanted for $22.00!
Here it is in the original state.
The top is made of chipboardy stuff, but the legs are solid.

After an undercoat.

Second undercoat with an $8.00 sample pot of my chosen colour.
I couldn't get high gloss in a sample pot, but the paint guy said
that it was worth getting, to make sure I liked the colour and it would
also act as a good base.

1 litre of high gloss paint for $30.00 and four coats applied with a roller later,
is the finished product.

I was going to use some old wooden chairs that I've had for years, but
decided they were a bit too cottagey (they now form part of a different project).
Instead, I picked up 4 chairs for $60.00 at the same secondhand place and am
currently giving them a facelift. Will post pics of these once completed.
