Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Jul 23, 2015 12:27 am Hi all Finally, selections! I would love some help/ideas for exterior colours. We want a contemporary grey and white, up to three colours. Bricks are PGH "pewter" (visible sides and rear only, the whole front is render). We liked the idea of a surfmist roof but there are a lot of trees near our house - will it get dirty? I'm concerned about a dark roof pulling too much heat though. We like colours such as dune, wallaby, winds pray, surfmist. We've considered woodland grey for roof but are worried it's too green and/or too dark? Then again you don't want it to look "wishy washy" either.. Our facade basically is this but there's cosmetic changes - The front has no cladding now except under the eaves (the cladding depicted around the front door is now rendered brick). The whole front is rendered. The louvre window on the matrix cladding is now twice the size depicted to better balance the larger window. We have glass and stainless balustrades at the front and probably want the matrix cladding above the garage in a shade of white, one suggestion has been Haymes spatial.. I don't want it to look too masculine either.. Just fresh and contemporary.. White for the matrix cladding will really make it stand out as it seems to be the most dominant feature of the facade. You'll need an equal amount of white on the other side to create balance. When you say the louvre window is twice the size, do you mean in both height and width? Roof is not really visible from the front so it's colour is less of a factor. Shame you're not doing cladding around the front door as a timber stain would help 'soften' the look from all render. The facade seems to be divided up into 3 areas. It's just a matter of mix & matching colours to get a proper balance. Have you chosen a window frame colour? I thought grey might look too masculine? My husband did wanti that "commercial" look from the front though will soften it with planting. He's got an aversion to the timber look cladding lol though I agree it would soften it and provide some relief. There is still the cladding under the eaves. We want those three sections to look balanced.. What colours would you choose? No the window same height depicted but twice the width. Yes correct on the roof, it's only looking up the street (we sit on a block with a fall S-N of about 1.2metres and it faces E). We've got someone looking at colours but are interested in what others thought... I just post at night when feeding Bub (10 weeks old). Windows are Bradnam "ultra silver gloss" (to look similar to anodised without actually being anondised) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Bricks Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Facade help - exterior colour selections! 4Jul 24, 2015 11:11 am If you want it to look less masculine then you're going to have to add some warm colours to soften it from all the dark & light greys. That's why I suggested a timber stain. I'd recommend getting in touch with michelle at Denovo Concepts. It would be worth doing a consult with her. She's on this forum. Would a warm cream be enough to soften it? We do have a colour consultant engaged but am interested to hear people's opinions as I see people often discuss their ideas. We just wanted that look I guess, almost "commercial" looking...the facade was chosen before the bricks. The want front door will be toughened glass and aluminium and thought render would look better. We didn't want the bricks with the cladding.. If it was full brick we wouldn't have rendered it. We will soften it with planting etc as well but currently trying to determine paint and colourbond colours. Thank you @. Tried to play with the facade models but the exact colour is not matching up. 2 1033 How much are you ahead in payments compared to where the build is at?
