Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 May 05, 2010 10:45 am Hi, Am looking at painting my apartment in the next week or so and it occurred to me that being an old unit there's a very likely possibility that there could be lead based paint on the trim, doors and window frames. Our intention is to lightly sand the above mentioned areas to remove the gloss so the new paint will adhere. Should I be concerned ? and if so what precausions should I take ? That’s all you need to do, don’t forget to wipe the trims down after you have sanded them with a damp cloth to get all the dust off.
