Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Sep 17, 2007 12:00 am Hi All,
I was wondering if i could get some input on possible feature wall colour combintations to go with our main wall colour we have selected??? Our main wall colour is Dulux China White, i'm wondering if a red feature wall in my family / living and a green feature wall will suit with this main wall colour?? Our main living has white floor tiles with black granite benchtops/splashback and gloss polar white cupboards, i have my heart set on a red feature wall but not sure which red?? Our bedroom has chocolate brown carpet, my girlfriend really likes the slippery moss green, will these colours go together?? Thanks Anthony Re: Colour Advice 2Sep 17, 2007 3:46 pm Hi Anthony,
We put a red feature wall in the middle of our home ... and all of our pictures, bits and pieces are in the green and brown tones. We think the red looks ace but it's all personal opinion. Michelle is fantastic at colour advice so hopefully she'll give you some help. Some pics for you to get an idea though of ours. It's not a fire engine red, but more a burnt red colour (stupid description but not sure how else to describe it). Good luck .. look forward to seeing the end result. Yes Amber, the red is like a burnt red, good description. Thanks for the plug Amber…….nice photo of you…… Wanted……want to see more of that red? Check out my website www.denovoconcepts.com I will have a look at you question tonight! ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Colour Advice 4Sep 19, 2007 7:36 pm “China White” is a perfect flow colour……main colour; it’s very neutral which is what you want to complement feature colours with.
Red and green are complementary colours, meaning they are the preferred colours to put together, or to be seen close together. You main living area and your chosen selections are CRYING for that red wall!!! I saw the “Slippery Moss” green the other day and suggested it to someone in here, very nice colour! My advice from the info you have given is to go with what you have in mind, it will look stunning! Obviously you have the Dulux colour broacher……have a look at the “Capsicum Red”….above the photo of the “Slippery Moss”…….that’s the colours you should go with for with your RED. I want to see photos, it will look great….good choices! ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Colour Advice 5Sep 30, 2007 7:33 pm Just an update for you all.
We changed our main wall colour to Dulux Whisper White as my gut was telling me the China White was too dark. Still need to paint the feature walls but have decided on Slippery Moss for the bedroom, Mocha Earth "Suede" for the theatre room and possibly RED BLOODED for the living. I'll post pics when i get some feature walls completed.
