Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Apr 01, 2010 12:20 pm We're at the fun stage of choosing colours and below are the tiles / carpet that we'd like to have. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We are going to have a true white (yet to choose exact colour) for our ceiling, architraves and skirting and we'd like a nice complimentary white to have on the walls. We are building with Eden Brae so will be using the Taubman range of paints. I don't like anything too creamy based, nor do we want anything too 'cold'. We are having white plantation shutters on the windows, an all white kitchen, white desk in study nook (which can be seen by all living areas). So the white we choose for the walls I'd like it to still be fresh & modern but I'd like it to have a little contrast to the other truer whites being used. Our lounges and dining furniture are chocolate brown. Any suggestions? All the other white paint questions I've read about tend to relate to dulux. Looking at your tiles/carpet, it would be perfect. It has almost a grey tinge to it. I'm not so sure about it with the chocolate brown furniture though, actually in saying that, our bedroom furniture is brown and it looks fine. The rest of our house has charcoal or white furniture so it does go better with that. It was purely by chance that we went with it, I'd been looking at all of the larger colour swatches and came across one where they had little snippets of each colour, there was a tiny little section about 1cm wide that had the Gazebo White on it. It was really overpowered by the other colours but something just told me that it was it. Thank goodness it was because we bought 10L of it. Couldn't be happier! C Re: Help with Taubman whites please 3Apr 02, 2010 3:09 pm Remember that you can order other painting company colours, such as Dulux to be used in Taubmans paints and visa versa. They all have each others formula, and while they might vary a little on deeper colours you should not have any problems with the lighter shades. And its popular, and easy to deal in percentages of colours, such as 25% or 12.5% if you like a hint of a colour Re: Help with Taubman whites please 4Apr 02, 2010 4:10 pm Thanks for the last post, I didn't even consider that. Awesome idea. Building an Eden Brae Saville 27 http://karry327.blogspot.com/ Building thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=44247 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7171 i had the my concreters concrete right up to the fence. I have pits all along my path, so the water tends to drain away from the house and into the pits.
