Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Feb 24, 2010 12:50 pm I need a HUGE canvas for one wall. We are getting ready to sell so it just has to be good enough for "display" purposes and blend in with the colour scheme. I thought if I got a cheap canvas I might be able to knock up something (abstract of course ) I am no artist and I was wondering if anyone has done this and how did it go. Any sites to help a complete novice?? Re: Anyone made their own canvas art? 2Feb 24, 2010 1:30 pm place a blank canvas the the middle of a drop sheet dip a paint brush in the paint and flick it at the canvas. then change colours and repeat. Or dribble paint over the canvas paint the canvas one colour and then flick the colours.... You can also stencil some words or animals on it then cover it with paint so it only just shows through.... Thats my guess. K:MEWAX:IT How do you do that drizzled on paint effect Re: Anyone made their own canvas art? 4Feb 24, 2010 1:56 pm Looks like taped of the section they wanted to do the effect and as far as the drizzle goes ive seen people put a hole in the bottom of the pot and swirl it around but that paint looks like rather good artist paint, which is thicker than normal and gives it an embossed effect. Im not to sure, maybe go to an art/crafts store? We put new ceramic tile in our house just a week ago and already the canvas colored grout it looking dirty and stained. I have three kids so there is a lot of traffic in the kitchen where it is the worst. We cleaned with sulfamic acid then sealed twice but still looks stained. What can I do to get this grout new and clean looking again and prevent all the dark spots? I have tried bleach and floor cleaners. Help!
