Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Feb 09, 2010 7:27 pm Hi all,
I'm looking for a list of 'official' render colours offered in Australia. We've decided to render our portico at the last minute and need to tell our builder which colour paint to buy asap - surely there is a list online of all the colours available. Do render colours usually have official names? We quite like the colours used in the photo below, does anyone know the names of these two colours? Re: Help pls. Need to find render colour chart. 2Feb 09, 2010 8:34 pm I love these two colours and would love to know how to determine render colours as well? Hmmm would you just look at DULUX paint colour charts I wonder?? First home builder - Double story on a narrow block - VIC Our Progress - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=16253 LOCKED-UP woot woot! NEED HELP! 3Feb 09, 2010 8:42 pm As far as I kno w its any normal paint colour... hubby picked a colourbond colour he liked, I thought it was too light so went looking at a paint store and found a darker shade of the same colour that I liked Custom European Cabinets - Melbourne Kitchen Specialist PM for business details as website currently being updated! Our Crazy Owner Builder Journey! Re: How would you know what render colour to use? NEED HELP! 4Feb 10, 2010 6:13 am It depends what render product your builder uses. Some are painted over, some have the colour mixed through the top coat. If it's a coloured-through one, there may be a set list of colours you can have. Mostly though, Bam's right - you can pick any colour from any paint chart and it can be matched. Better ask your builder. Re: How would you know what render colour to use? If we tell our builder that we want these colours, will he know where to get them from or would we need to tell him 'Solvers Lundy Grey' from Dulux..? Re: How would you know what render colour to use? NEED HELP! 7Feb 10, 2010 3:03 pm They're pretty knowledgable about render colours, so I think that they will know what you're talking about Also, small correction: the Lundy Grey is manufactured by Solver - not Dulux (sorry!). AFAIK, render colour is just paint mixed into the acrylic render - so theoretically you can choose any colour that paint comes in. You can get different proportions of paint added for lighter or darker results too. Re: How would you know what render colour to use? NEED HELP! 8Feb 11, 2010 9:00 am Vundaful! Everyone on this forum have been fantastic, you guys are always so helpful for us first time builders! My wife went into Solvers this morning and discussed the Lundy Grey and Woodland Grey options, they were very helpful and assured her that those colours were the ones we were looking for and that they look great together. We're going to go with those colours, you can follow our progress on our thread which is in my signiture. Thanks again P_S and Lamoos25 Re: How would you know what render colour to use?
